Why CAP-FM Exists — and Why It Lasts
CAP-FM exists for one fundamental reason:
to create wig bases that faithfully replicate—and reliably retain—the natural contour and curvature of the human head.
When a net material is formed into a head shape, a specially developed liquid adhesive, first introduced in 1992, is applied, followed by controlled heat and pressure.
Through this process, the material is shaped directly to true head geometry, resulting in a stable cap foundation with a precise and consistent head contour.
When this CAP-FM structure is combined with a PU-Skin cap formed from liquid polyurethane—shaped directly on a head mold—the resulting wig base preserves the natural head contour shape without curvature distortion.
Unlike flat or loosely formed materials, CAP-FM is a pre hard-shaped cap foundation, engineered from the outset to follow real human head geometry.
However, shape alone has little value if it cannot be maintained over time.
This is where the true value of CAP-FM is defined.
The forming process employs G7000-CS, a proprietary bonding adhesive developed by John Yim, designed to internally stabilize the head shape while tolerating a wide range of environmental conditions.
As a result, the wig base or toupee base maintains its original head contour and curvature over time, without deformation, collapse, or loss of shape memory.
Because CAP-FM is formed using G7000-CS, the foundation does not merely appear correct at the time of production—it remains dimensionally stable for years.
This long-term dimensional stability is precisely why CAP-FM is exported worldwide as a premium wig base material (a semi-finished foundation material), and why G7000-CS itself is independently supplied to more than 30 countries as a professional-grade head-contour-forming adhesive.
CAP-FM—a nylon monofilament net shaped in true head geometry—and the head-shape-retaining adhesive G7000-CS are not separate products.
Together, they form a complete foundation system—the structural core of modern Wig Science. |
