In our own hair processing and coloring facility, after the spin-drying stage we use a professional drying system designed for large-scale hair processing.
The dryer we use has a capacity designed to handle up to approximately 80 kilograms of human hair per batch. In typical operation, when more than 50 kg of hair is loaded, we dry the hair at about 80°C for approximately 3 hours. When the batch size is smaller, typically below 10 kg, the drying time is usually about 2 hours at the same temperature.
This controlled drying process allows us to remove remaining moisture efficiently while maintaining the stability of the ionic coating layer formed on the hair surface. |

Once these ionic bonding sites on the cuticle surface are fully occupied, no additional ionic bonding can occur, because there are no remaining negative sites available for pairing.
For this reason, leaving the hair in the solution longer — whether for 10 minutes or even several hours — does not create additional layers or stronger bonding.
Unlike paint or coating materials that become thicker with repeated application, JK-HairCoat forms a single, stable ionic bonding layer.

When hair is exposed to repeated friction—such as rubbing against pillows or bedding during sleep, car seats or headrests while driving, or household furniture such as sofas or chairs—the outer cuticle layers gradually become physically worn away through normal everyday use.
As these outer cuticle layers are worn away through repeated friction and contact, the JK-HairCoat coating layer ionically bonded to the cuticle surface is naturally removed together with the worn cuticle.
Therefore, the gradual reduction in coating performance is not caused by any loss of effectiveness of JK-HairCoat itself. Rather, it results from the normal physical wear of the hair surface during everyday use.
In other words, JK-HairCoat does not gradually disappear or lose its performance by itself. Instead, the cuticle surface to which JK-HairCoat is ionically bonded is gradually worn away, and the coating bonded to that surface is naturally lost together with it.
Even healthy, high-quality Remy hair undergoes this natural process over time.
For this reason, periodic reapplication of JK-HairCoat creates a fresh protective coating and restores many of its original benefits, helping to maintain a smoother appearance, improved manageability, reduced frizz, and longer-lasting hair quality.
For salons and wig professionals, this also creates an opportunity to offer a valuable maintenance service. Depending on each client's wearing habits, washing frequency, and hair condition, many clients may benefit from returning every one to three months for professional re-treatment.
As a result, periodic JK-HairCoat maintenance can become a profitable recurring service. Clients enjoy better-looking, longer-lasting wigs, toppers, and hair extensions, while salons and wig professionals benefit from regular repeat visits, stronger customer relationships, and additional recurring service revenue.

Why should we remove excess solution and further minimize build-up ? Ans: Yes |
|
Our JK-HairCoat products are formulated using an emulsion-based system, with components such as Vaseline-like materials, fatty alcohol derivatives, fatty acid salts (soap-like substances), and non-ionic surfactants, along with proprietary coating agents.
These supporting ingredients function as a carrier-like delivery system, helping to transport and evenly distribute the proprietary active coating components of JK-HairCoat, developed by John Yim, onto the hair.
They do not form the coating themselves; rather, they enable the formation of an extremely thin, lightweight coating layer on the hair — not a heavy or greasy substance.
If excessive amounts are used or if the product is not evenly distributed, residue may remain between hair strands, potentially leading to build-up (a sticky or heavy feel).
For best results:

Maintain the recommended mixing ratio of approximately 0.3%, not over 1%, 10%

Gently comb the hair while it is immersed in the solution to ensure proper alignment and even distribution (DO NOT over-comb, not 1 minutes, but some or several seconds only)

Pre-arrange the hair (hackling or combing) before treatment, especially for bulk hair

After treatment, spin drying is recommended to remove excess solution and further minimize build-up
The coating reaction occurs rapidly (within about 10 seconds) through ionic bonding. Once formed, this ultra-thin coating layer remains stable and is not removed during spin drying. |

However, please note that for achieving the “Silky Straightening” effect, we normally use JK7882-SEV.
Place the hair on a flat and even surface.
If possible, use a stainless steel plate that has been pre-warmed to a warm or higher temperature.
Lay the hair flat, then either place a cloth over the hair and iron it, or iron it directly without a cloth.
Both methods may be tried.
Additional Note:
When ironing, always move the iron from the root area toward the ends of the hair.
This is similar to the way a mother gently brushes her daughter’s long hair,
moving from the top down toward the ends.
Additional Guidance on Ironing Pressure and Technique
When ironing, apply gentle but firm pressure and move the iron smoothly from the root area toward the ends of the hair.
The motion should be continuous and fluid, similar to gliding smoothly downward, without stopping abruptly.
For curly hair:
Instead of sliding the iron downward, we recommend using a pressing (stamping) technique.
Divide the hair into small sections and press the iron onto one area at a time,
then lift and move to the next section.
Hold the iron in each position for approximately 1–2 seconds,
and adjust the pressing time as needed based on the hair condition.
Because hair condition varies greatly,
it is difficult to define a single ideal pressing time or movement speed.
For hair that is already damaged, the heat exposure time should be reduced,
and the iron temperature should be lowered, or both temperature and time should be adjusted accordingly.
As you may already expect, this adjustment is very important to prevent further damage. |
Regulatory and Practical Note
From a regulatory and professional standpoint,
JK-HairCoat application is intended to be performed only when wigs, toupees, or hair extensions are fully separated from the wearer’s head.
In many regions, applying chemical coatings or spray treatments directly onto hairpieces while they are attached to a person may fall under cosmetic, medical, or occupational safety regulations, particularly when spraying is involved.
For this reason, all application methods described — including spraying, dipping, or submerging —
are designed for off-head processing only, ensuring:

Once the treatment and finishing process is completed, the hairpiece can then be safely reattached or worn as usual. |
